The mandate of the Guelph Jazz Festival is to promote an interest in and an appreciation of jazz, creative improvised music and their related arts. Our main goal is to develop a programme that reflects the most compelling and innovative accomplishments in this area of music. Our five day festival, always held the weekend after Labour Day in September, includes the mainstage programme that showcases Canadian and international artists, the free downtown jazz tent held on the Saturday of the festival, a three day educational colloquium that discusses jazz's influence on society and culture, and the jazz around town series featuring music in restaurants and clubs.
