Joaquin Nuñez Hidalgo – Percussion

Master Afro-Cuban Percussionist originally from the province of Oriente, Cuba, never left behind his passion for his native music which reflects what he is: a strong academic trained musician with more than 20 years experience as a soloist, and all variety of musical contexts. For most of his life, he has been bringing the soul of Cuban music to audiences everywhere showing his interestingly cultural background and his solid tradition. Joaquin Nuñez Hidalgo – Percussion

Hilario Duran – Piano

Hilario Durán is ranked among the greats, as one of the most important contemporary Cuban pianists and arrangers today. Hilario’s formal music training, combined with a deep understanding of traditional Cuban music, as well as a love for jazz, allowed him to play a key role in the integration of Afro-Cuban music and jazz; he is a virtuoso player, arranger, composer, and bandleader in his own right, and he has the Grammy nominations and Juno Awards to prove it.

Horacio “El Negro” Hernández – Drums

Grammy Award winner and one of the most talented drummers in the world today, Horacio “El Negro” Hernández has earned a strong reputation as one of the most powerful and versatile players in the current musical scene. Hernández plays on the cutting edge of today’s music with technical prowess and versatility, his drumming also reflects a proud musical heritage rooted in folklore tradition. “El Negro” is a gifted musician who represents a new generation of great players. Few percussionist have done as much to further the marriage of jazz, rock and Cuban music as Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez.

Roberto Occhipinti – Bass

Roberto Occhipinti is diversity personified. He’s won awards and acclaim as a musician, composer and record producer. The Toronto-born bassist has performed in classical orchestras, jazz ensembles, Latin groups, rhythm & blues outfits and rock bands; he is one of Canada’s premier bassists, comfortable in a wide variety of musical contexts. Roberto brings a rare excitement, a wealth of experience and a high degree of professionalism to every project he works with.

Elmer Ferrer – Guitar and Tres

Cuban-Canadian Elmer Ferrer is one of the world`s premiere guitarists. An extremely versatile and prolific session musician, Elmer has recorded and toured the globe with many of Cuba’s top producers and artists; he is one of the former members of the Zucchero & La Sesión Cubana. Elmer also has an established career as a composer and solo performer. Elmer`s extensive session work, recording and touring with Grammy winners and nominees as well as underground artists from all sorts of musical genre, made him soon be known as Cuba’s most sought after electric guitarist.
